About Ananda Dharma Yoga

We are “Dharma Warriors” or those who stand for the true path of Yoga. At Ananda, we introduce our students to the authentic teachings of Yoga by providing them with an understanding and overview of a practice that promotes balance and connectedness with the highest state of the being (or Ananda). Our goal is to assist students with obtaining and maintaining this balance and awareness in their daily lives. Our style of teaching is Vajra Dharma. In this style of Yoga, we incorporate the four paths of Yoga: Raja Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Karma Yoga.

Our teaching method is based on Advaita Vedanta ~the practice that leads us to liberation through the acquisition of vidya(knowledge) of the identity of Atman and Brahman. It emphasizes Jivanmukta, the idea that moksha (freedom, liberation) is achievable in this life. Through Yoga sutra education, pranayama, asana and meditation, our students are immersed in the comprehensive path of Yoga.

Things to know

We do cancel class if we do not have any online registrations 2 hours before the class. So to insure your spot, we ask that you register for class online. We do accept drop-ins, but we cannot guarantee you a spot. However, we offer several classes daily, so there’s plenty of chances to join us.

We ask that all students arrive 5-10 minutes prior to class, as we begin promptly at the scheduled start time. We also kindly ask that students do not come into class if we have already started, as it is unfair to be disruptive to the other students.

There is an area to store shoes and coats upon entering. Please come in and remove your shoes, set up your mat, and feel free to meditate until class begins. Please kindly leave cell phones in car or turn off completely(and leave with your belongings). Phones are not permitted on the mat. Thank you for your understanding.

We are always available to answer any questions prior to class. Don’t be shy! And finally…. YES YOGA IS FOR EVERYONE! 🙂
